My name is Michelle and I’m the person behind SmitKnits. SmitKnits doesn’t really mean anything right now but I’m hoping to change that.
I’m a knitter/crafter extraordinaire. Over the years I have realized that I have a talent for knitting. I have ventured out of just my knit/purl stitches and tried to learn as much as I can. Sometimes color work is so interesting that I sit with my graph paper and my many colored markers and see how many combinations of one pattern I can make. Other times I knit with size 0 needles and try to create a mini person or animal. I’m interested in learned everything there is to know about the art of knitting and yarn, which is a lot. This blog is to help me document my journey in creative knitting. I have also designed some of my own stuff and want to add to my resume.
I make a range of projects from socks, to sweaters, to gloves, to stuffed animals, I’ve tried it all and there is still more to learn.
One day I hope to own my own fiber farm with my wonderful husband and spin my own yarn to make my own projects. I also hope to have my own store one day maybe selling yarn, or teaching classes or just having people come to my farm and meet my sheep and alpacas. It’s all a dream for now as I work my full time office job but it’s a really exciting future.
So this is where my journey begins…
